Our Mission

Our Mission Statement

We are dedicated to honoring Lynette’s legacy by opening doors in girls’ softball and youth sports, expanding educational opportunity through scholarships, and supporting families in times of need.
The Lynette Louise Haughton Foundation Inc was established in loving memory of Lynette — a devoted mother, wife, friend, and community advocate whose compassion, strength, and generosity continue to inspire all who knew her. She believed deeply in the power of opportunity, the importance of education, and the joy found in supporting children and families.
Her values guide everything we do.

What We Stand For

Opportunity

Every child deserves access — access to sports, education, mentorship, and experiences that build confidence and character. We work to remove financial barriers so participation is not determined by circumstance.

Education

Education changes futures. Through scholarships and educational support, we help students pursue academic achievement, personal growth, and long-term success.

Stability:

When families face hardship, stability matters. We provide assistance to children and families navigating medical challenges, financial strain, and unexpected life events — because no child should lose opportunity due to crisis.

Our Commitment to Lynette’s Children

The Foundation also carries a deeply personal commitment: supporting the long-term educational well-being of Lynette’s children.
In accordance with our bylaws and nonprofit law, the Foundation may provide educational support to ensure continuity, opportunity, and stability for her children following the loss of their mother. This commitment reflects Lynette’s unwavering dedication to education and family.
All support is administered under Board-approved policies and with appropriate governance oversight to ensure integrity and compliance with charitable standards.

How We Operate

The Foundation is organized exclusively for charitable and educational purposes under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code.
We are governed by a volunteer Board of Directors who uphold fiduciary duties of care, loyalty, and obedience. Programs are implemented through structured committees, partnerships, and community collaboration to ensure transparency, accountability, and lasting impact.
Every decision is guided by the question:
How does this advance opportunity, education, and stability for children and families?

Our Vision

We envision a community where every child — regardless of circumstance — has the opportunity to participate, to learn, and to thrive.
Through sports, scholarships, and support, we seek to turn remembrance into action and legacy into lasting impact.

Core Values

Our foundation is built on values of compassion, community, and empowerment, ensuring that we uplift every child we serve. committed to inspiring and nurturing young women and men through sports and educational opportunities, fostering a community of support and resilience.
